And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself. – John 12:32
Introduction
There is an influence that cannot be manufactured by eloquence, education, position, or popularity. It is the influence that flows from a life surrendered to God. Throughout Scripture, those who shaped their generation were first shaped in the presence of God. Jesus Christ is the perfect example. Though He possessed no earthly throne or political power, multitudes were drawn to Him because the Father was revealed through Him. True Kingdom influence is not the promotion of self but the manifestation of Christ.
The Source of Irresistible Influence
The believer’s influence is born out of intimacy with God. As we abide in Christ, His life is formed within us, and His nature is expressed through us. Our words carry weight because they are backed by His presence, and our lives become living testimonies of His grace. Heaven entrusts influence to those who first learn to dwell in God’s presence.
Nurturing Irresistible Influence
1. Cultivate Intimacy with God
Influence begins in the secret place. Prayer, the Word, worship, and obedience transform the believer into Christ’s likeness. A life that abides in Christ naturally attracts others to Him.
Abide in Me, and I in you…. for without Me you can do nothing. – John 15:4-5
2. Develop Christlike Character
Lasting influence is sustained by character, not gifts. Integrity, humility, love, holiness, and faithfulness give credibility to our witness and reveal the transforming power of the Holy Spirit.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace – Galatians 5:22-23
3. Live to Exalt Christ
The purpose of our influence is never personal recognition but the glory of Christ. As we faithfully serve others and let our light shine, our lives become signposts that point men to the Savior.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. – Matthew 5:16
Conclusion
Irresistible influence is the fragrance of a life yielded to God. It is not the pursuit of fame but the evidence of God’s presence upon a believer. As we walk in intimacy with Christ, develop His character, and live for His glory, He entrusts us with an influence that transforms lives and advances His Kingdom.
May our generation not merely hear our voices but encounter Christ through our lives. As we lift Him up in our character, conduct, and service, may He fulfill His promise to draw men unto Himself through us, until our lives become undeniable witnesses of His power and grace. Amen.
