Grace Over Irrevocable Decrees

• By Gideon Adegunle

Bible Reference: Daniel 6:8

Now, O king, establish the decree and sign the writing, so that it cannot be changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter. (NKJV)

Just as Christ endured what seemed like an impossible resurrection, we too will encounter situations that appear hopeless — yet God’s power is able to bring us through them.

Some situations in our lives may seem unchangeable — as if the enemy has everything perfectly planned against us. Just like the laws of the Medes and Persians, which were considered irreversible, these challenges can appear final. But even when everything seems permanent, God is still able to intervene and turn things around.

Some battles in life cannot be avoided — there are no shortcuts or quick fixes. In such seasons, a heartfelt prayer for God’s grace becomes our greatest resource.
Consider:

  • The king who labored all day but found Daniel still in the lion’s den.

  • The doctor who fights for healing, the employer striving for breakthrough, or the believer pressing in, yet seeing no change.

In all these, it is only God’s sustaining grace that brings true deliverance.

Lies We Must Guard Against:

  • “God doesn’t care about me; my answers are just luck.”

  • “I’m not part of God’s big plan — His will doesn’t include me.”

  • “If deliverance isn’t instant, it can’t be from God.”

  • “If I endure hardship, it must mean God doesn’t love me.”

Daniel: A Life of Steadfast Faith

Daniel was a man of prayer, excellence, and noble character.
His defining moment came in the lion’s den — a test that revealed the steadfastness of his faith.
Surrounded by roaring danger, Daniel’s commitment to prayer and unwavering integrity sustained him through the night.

As Christians, our mindset must be to love God unconditionally, whether in seasons of plenty or pain.

Conclusion

Let the reality of Christ’s resurrection assure our hearts:
No matter what we face, we will walk through fire and not be burned, through waters and not be overwhelmed.

His victory over death guarantees our victory over any trial or challenge.
Just as He conquered the grave, we too can face life’s difficulties with confidence — knowing that God’s presence and power will sustain us.
The resurrection power of Christ is alive and at work in us, bringing us through to victory!
